5. HOW TO PLAY.
A. Creating an Entry:
Participants must log on and register with NASCAR.COM, then access the Fantasy Games homepage for NASCAR® Fantasy Live located at http://fantasygames.nascar.com/live. To participate, create an entry by clicking PLAY NOW and then following the steps to create a single entry. A single email account registration can have up to five (5) entries. If you participated in the NASCAR Fantasy Live 2023 Game, your entries and the Leagues in which they participated will carry over to 2024, however, all Points for each entry will be set to zero at the beginning of the Game Period. If you did not use all five entries during the 2023 Game, you may create additional entries for the 2024 Game, subject to the five entry maximum.
B. Joining a League
Once an entry has been created, you may choose to join or create a League. If you participated in the NASCAR Fantasy Live 2023 Game, your entries will carry over to 2024 in the same Leagues. Leagues can be established by anyone at any time throughout the Season. There is no minimum number of teams that may participate in a given League, and the League maximum is one hundred (100) teams, except that a limited number of sponsored leagues are open to more than 100 teams. Leagues can be Public or Private. Public Leagues can be joined by anyone, provided the League has not reached its maximum number of teams. Private Leagues require the password of the League commissioner. Any registered participant can have up to five (5) active teams in up to five (5) different Leagues (maximum one team per League). A participant can move a team from one League to another League at any time. A participant may also remove a team from any League and continue playing.
C. Game Play:
Manage one or more teams of five (5) NASCAR Cup Series™ drivers, picking drivers with the best chance at scoring the most points each week. Participants may only use a single driver a maximum of ten (10) times per Team over the course of the first 26 races of the Regular Season. Participants may only use a single driver a maximum of five (5) times per Team over the course of the final ten races of the Playoffs (Races 27 through 36)
One (1) additional driver may be added to a Garage roster slot before the beginning of a Race, and substituted for one of the starting drivers while the Race is in progress up until the beginning of the final Stage.
Starting Drivers will be automatically carried over from Race to Race as long as the team has not exhausted its use of a particular driver (10 uses for the regular season, and 5 uses for the playoffs). A full Team Roster of five drivers is not required to be scored. A participant will earn points each week as described below based on the performance of the drivers on the participant’s Team(s) for that week. Participants can also earn bonus points each week by successfully predicting the winning driver of up to four featured driver matchups as described below.
D. Setting your Team:
Participants will select five (5) drivers to make up a team of their predicted top-scoring drivers in that week’s Race. Participants do not need to have a full roster of drivers to receive points. Participants will have until five (5) minutes before each Race’s official start time to select their Team. Official start time will be posted on the Game Website. In the event of any delay to the start of a Race, the roster lock time may be extended. Roster picks will carry over from week to week as long as you have remaining uses for a driver (10 uses for the Regular Season and 5 uses for the Playoffs). Drivers must actively start and finish a Race in order to receive points.
E. Garage Driver
Participants may select one (1) Garage driver for each Team for each Race. The Garage driver must be selected at least five (5) minutes before each Race’s official start time. Your Garage pick will carry over from week to week unless you change it by the lock time. The points of the driver in the Garage spot at the end of the Race will not count toward the final score of the Team. However, participants may substitute the Garage driver for a driver in the starting roster an unlimited number of times, if desired, until the start of the final stage while a Race is in progress. The combined race points of the drivers that finish the Race in the Team’s five active starting roster slots will count toward the Team’s final score. Only driver picks that finish a Race in one of the five starting roster slots will count against the maximum limit of ten (10) uses of the driver on the Team for the Regular Season (Races 1 to 26) and maximum limit of five (5) uses of the driver on the Team for the Playoffs (Races 27 to 36).
F. Bonus Points:
For bonus points, participants will need to select the winning driver from four featured driver head to head matchups of the week. Failure to do so will not result in a penalty, but no additional bonus points will be earned. BONUS PICKS DO NOT CARRY OVER WEEK TO WEEK. Participants must select these before each Race in order to earn bonus points for that Race. Driver bonus picks do not count towards the limit of 10 uses of a driver on a Team Roster for the Regular Season or five uses for the Playoffs.
G. Scoring Format:
The drivers participating in each of the 36 Season Races of the NASCAR Cup Series™ schedule will be scored each week according to the categories below. Participants earn points each week for each of their teams based on the performance of the drivers on their team for that week. The total race points accumulated by each driver on a participant’s team, plus any Bonus Points earned, represent the participant’s Weekly Race Points for each team/entry. Weekly Race Points are used to rank participants within Leagues and Overall each week. Weekly Race Points are totaled for each team Race by Race to determine the Overall League and Game (All Participants) Rankings. Weekly Race Points and respective Rankings will be considered Final and will be posted to the site within 24 hours of the time when Race Results from NASCAR become official. Any penalties or adjustments to NASCAR official scoring after Game scoring has been finalized will not be reflected in the Weekly Race Points.
H. Scoring Categories:
Drivers are scored across two (2) statistical categories, originating from NASCAR’s official Race scoring. If a Driver on a participant’s Team Roster does not compete in a Race or is replaced by a substitute Driver, that Driver will be awarded zero (0) points for that Race. Regardless of what car they are in, the only Drivers who will receive points are those that actively start and finish a Race.
Finishing Position: 1st place gets 40 points, 2nd place gets 35, 3rd place gets 34, 4th place gets 33 points and so on in decrements of one point per position, with 36th-40th place earning 1 point. The Game will be scored based on the final Race results tabulated by NASCAR Timing and Scoring.
Stage Points:
Drivers who are running 1st through 10th at the conclusion of Stage One (1) of the Race will receive stage points, starting with 10 points for 1st place, nine points for 2nd place, down to one point for 10th place. Drivers who are running 1st through 10th at the conclusion of Stage Two (2) of the Race will also receive Stage Points, starting with 10 points for 1st place, nine points for 2nd place, down to one point for 10th place. A driver’s Stage One (1) and Stage Two (2) points will then be added together for their Total Stage Points for that Race.
Bonus Points:
Bonus Points - Head to Head Matchups: 10-point bonus for each correct pick of the driver with the higher finishing position between four head to head matchups for that week
6. HOW TO WIN.
DAYTONA CHAMPION:
One (1) Daytona Champion Prize will be awarded. If all tied participants have identical rosters, the player with the greatest number of Bonus Points for that Race will be declared the Daytona Champion. If a tie still exists, the player who set his/her full roster, including any bonus picks, earlier for the Race will be the Daytona Champion. Only one Playoff Prize will be awarded across all eligible Teams. Winning your League during the Playoffs does not guarantee you the Playoff Prize. You must finish first with the highest score for the Playoffs across all eligible Teams.
LEADERBOARD AND RANKINGS The online Leaderboard and rankings within Leagues will reflect the scores of all participants in the Game, not all of whom are eligible to win prizes. Therefore, the players listed at the top of the Leaderboard will not necessarily be the Winners of the Game. Sponsor’s decisions regarding eligibility and qualification of participants as winners in the Game are final and binding.
NOTIFICATION AND CONFIRMATION Grand Prize Winner, Second Place Prize Winner, Third Place Prize Winner, Daytona Champion Prize Winner, and Playoff Prize Winner are, collectively, the “Winners.” Prize Fulfillment Administrator will notify all potential Winners by e-mail at the e-mail address provided in the Game registration within three (3) business days following determination of the potential Winners. Potential Winners, or their parent/legal guardian if potential winner is a minor in his or her jurisdiction of residence, must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release and an IRS W-9 form within seven (7) days of receipt to claim the prize. If an e-mail notification is returned as undeliverable, or if a potential winner does not respond to the notification within the timeframe, or if a potential winner does not return the signed documentation to claim the prize within the designated time period, or if a potential winner is determined to be ineligible, or not to be in compliance with these Official Rules, then such potential winner will be disqualified, the prize forfeited, and an alternate winner determined and notified in accordance with these Official Rules. Sponsor and Prize Fulfillment Administrator are not responsible for an e-mail notification being sent to a spam folder or otherwise not being received by a potential winner for any reason. Participants are solely responsible for checking their e-mails and spam folders for notifications, which will come from a >csm.com< e-mail address. In the event of disqualification of a potential Overall Prize winner during the confirmation process, the alternate winner will be the player with the next highest total number of Weekly Race points for a single team at the end of the Game Period, as discussed above. Sponsor will first confirm Grand Prize winner, allowing for possible replacement by the participant with the next highest point total in the Game and then repeat the process for the Second Place Winner and Third Place Winner. In the event of disqualification of a potential Daytona Champion winner during the confirmation process, the alternate winner will be the player with the next highest total number of Weekly Race points for that Race, as discussed above. In the event of disqualification of a potential Playoff Prize winner during the confirmation process, the alternate winner will be the player with the next highest total number of Weekly Race points for Races 27 through 36, as discussed above. If Prize Fulfillment Administrator is not able to award a prize to a confirmed winner after three attempts, that prize may remain unawarded, in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
